PURPOSE:

This position is responsible for managing inventory replenishment and planning activities within global network of supply chains. Scope includes demand planning activities, inventory management, PO/SO process, part deployments, cutovers and execution of logistics policies to ensure availability of Timken products at worldwide warehouse locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position requires interaction with both external & internal customers and stakeholders, including our warehousing logistics partners, across all of Timken's domestic and international business locations. Position is responsible for managing inventory across the suuply chain (including building inventory models, OSMI, inventory sweeps) and reporting on key metrics such as inventory days, value, projection as well as coordinating inventory planning related activities with cross functional areas such as sales, distribution, and marketing. PO/SO ownership is required. Position leads supply chain conversion and cutover activities working with the Supply Chain CI team and Business Process Owners. Data ownership maintenance responsibilities include ABC classification conversions, lot size and rounding values, and SAP material deployments, for example. Position executes air freight and other logistics tasks according to policies and the need as determined by analysis. Position is also required to conduct ad-hoc analysis per management request (i.e. 4up, root cause analysis, etc.) and participate in CI/Lean initiatives wtihin the replenishment department and as a part of cross-functional projects. Participation in launching of after market product or extending product launches into new regions is required.

TECHNICAL/FUNCTIONAL SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated ability as a change agent, successful at leading process redesign.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Organization and focus - efficient time management and ability to analyze non-standard sets of data.
  • Lean/Six Sigma/Closed Loop Process Control tools and techniques.
  • Experience of working in ERP environment, particularly in SAP.
  • APICS or similiar certification is a plus.
  • Ability to run analysis in JMP software.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or Engineering.
  • Expedite requests from customers service/sales engineers. Deployment of new materials.
  • Executing inventory models for specific product lines. Running 4 UP and developing root cause analysis while utilizing 6 sigma tools and techniques. Participation and/leading small CI iniatives.
  • Launching of new supply chain for new (i.e. aftermarket products) and/or extending the launch into new regions of the world. Products are unique and thyus processes/procedures that work for one may or may not be able to be transferred to others.
