Scope - Responsible for quality activities including, maintaining, promoting, and administering prevention based quality management processes and tasks for purchased and manufactured materials, components, and services. Use all available quality tools (PDCA, DMAIC, SPC, etc.) to provide first level help chain response to all Shiloh processes for immediate (within hour or day) and short term (1 - 3 days) response.

Required Skills:

Minimum High School Diploma or GED

Strong mechanical ability

Excellent math skills

Ability to read and use blueprints, charts, and technical documents

Good computer skills, including knowledge and ability with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) plus specialized software

Strong planning, organizing, and communication skills

Excellent problem solving ability with emphasis on DMAIC

Adaptability and perseverance

Precision machining and measuring experience required

Job Essentials:

  • Safety - daily participation and involvement in individual and team safety responsibilities such as Behavior Based Safety, good housekeeping practices, chemical labeling, and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Follow all Quality Procedures and Control Plans specific to this job and assisted job function(s)
  • Assist the Quality Engineer/Analyst for Assigned Flowpath
    • Internal Failure Reduction
      • Review/approve daily scrap tickets and turn in to Materials Team for processing
      • Root cause analysis of significant internal failure
      • Assessment of viable corrective action including documentation and modification of control elements (Prints, Travelers, Control Plans, Tool sheets, etc.) via Change Control
    • Rework Reduction
      • Facilitate Rework Process with Quality Engineer and Mfg Teams
      • Facilitate rework measurement process
      • Root cause analysis of Rework
      • Assessment of viable corrective action including documentation and modification of control elements (Prints, Travelers, Control Plans, Tool sheets, etc.) via Change Control
    • Product Conformance
      • First Contact for Manufacturing Help Chain
      • Assist Teams and Quality Engineer in "GO-NO GO" decisions and response activities (including change control and other QMS improvement activities)
      • Conduct Product Conformance measurements as assigned by Flowpath (MRB, PPAP, FAIR, OQA)
      • Assist Quality Engineer in defining proper measurement methods, tooling, and procedures specific to flow path product line to pass to Measurement Team including required R&R studies.
    • Analysis of Data
      • Produce conformance measurement of Flowpath
      • Support effective CAR/PAR process for Flowpath
      • Support RGA analysis for customer satisfaction
      • Support audits of Flowpath to ensure product conformance
    • Continuous Improvement Activities
      • Manage assigned small/medium continuous improvement projects
      • Identify future CI projects
    • QMS Activities
      • Support QMS initiatives to improve overall plant performance
      • Function as QMS Local Expert for assigned Flowpath
      • Support other areas as required to ensure overall QMS efforts
      • Support Daily Quality Team assignments (Metrology, Gage Calibration, SMT/MRB)
    • Other duties as assigned by Manager
