Effectively supervise all day to day Shipping and Receiving activities at the Bucyrus Bearing Plant. Responsible for understanding all aspects of customer shipping requirements to meet delivery expectations of 200-300 customers. Support day-to-day customer needs and first point of contact for core customers. Responsible for supporting all Order Fulfillment aspects of assigned customers. Also fill in operations supervisor for shifts / crews as assigned.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Supervise Shipping and Receiving associates in order to meet all customer needs. Provide on-going backup coverage for Area Manager.

2. Knowledge of all customer shipping/packaging requirements. First line of contact for customers inquiring about shipping. Analyze carrier charges and determine what is appropriate by individual customer in order to keep costs to a minimum. Must maintain on-going knowledge of trucking regulations pertaining to loads, types and sizes of trucks. Main point of contact for all shipping and logistics functions.
3. Primary point of contact for export requirements, forwarders, etc. Work with Corporate Export group to ensure regulations/requirements are being met. Work with freight forwarders and customers to endure daily milk runs and scheduled pickups occur as smoothly as possible. Work with customers to ensure sufficient dunnage (ship containers) are available to meet customers requirements.
4. Responsible for establishing, filing and record keeping of all incoming and outgoing shipments and overseeing all delivery and packaging of those shipments. Must understand all software tracking systems for UPS, DHL and trucking companies used by Tryon Peak. Must understand the movement and necessary requirements regarding shipments of materials to all customers in order to comply with appropriate tax guidelines required for our corporation.
5. Act as first point of contact to the customer for order fulfillment issues as well as quality issues when appropriate for shipping/logistics issues. CRM team lead for assigned customers for product launches and serve on cross-functional launch teams. Visit customers as needed to resolve any issues and identify CI opportunities. Proficiency in monitoring customer systems for schedule and quality information.
6. Understand customer volume requirements, input accurate volume requirements into SAP (questioning any unusual data points), communicate customer volume requirements timely to Materials Analyst and bring large deviations to the attention of Area Manager, Plant Manager or Sales Rep. Ensure on-time delivery of parts to customers. Accessible off-hours to resolve customer and/or supplier critical issues as needed to avoid becoming further elevated.
7. Perform ongoing data analysis to Management which provides and improves the inputs into the sales forecast and business plan.

Technical/Functional Skills:

Minimum 5 years in Logistics or related field resolving domestic and international customer issues.

Minimum 3 years supervising associates.

Minimum 3 years SAP or related data base experience including customer orders, tracking & shipping.

Excellent organizational, follow-up and communication skills.

Strong knowledge of shipping and receiving processes and procedures for domestic and international.

Minimum 3 years customer service experience in manufacturing.

Education/Training Requirements:

Minimum high school (or equiv) required

Associate degree in Logistics, Business Administration or related field preferred
