You will directly manage our team of Sales Directors and indirectly guide 30+ National Account Managers that service our Multifamily customers across the nation.   • Bachelor's degree, Master's is a plus.
  • 10+ years managing large accounts in a similar industry, multifamily preferred.
  • 5+ years managing other sales leaders.
  • Success in managing $500mil portfolio or bigger.
  • History of success driving strategic initiatives.
  • Solid experience in a supply chain/distribution environment.
  • Knowledge in Facilities Maintenance product lines is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, Salesforce.com or similar CRM.
  • Experience with Miller Heiman's Strategic Selling and Large Account Management Process concepts.
  • Proven history of meeting and exceeding aggressive sales goals.
  • Ability to travel up to 65% of the time.

Job Description & Qualifications

Job Summary

Manage the sales function for a division or industry to ensure maximum sales for area of responsibility, including sales growth and profitability objectives. Drives sales through strategy creation with execution coming from the sales management teams. This position requires operation of a Company Vehicle or a Personal Vehicle and such operation is done consistently more than 20% of the average work week. If selected for this position, HD Supply will run a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report. A requirement of this position is an acceptable MVR report.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Develops strategic plans with managers to drive profitable sales through the assigned sales channel. Reviews each manager's strategic business plan. Coordinates effective use of management to assist in the sales process and remove barriers.
  • Works with other HD Supply businesses to ensure an appropriate support framework is in place to facilitate sales agreements. Works closely with Business Development to design sales strategies for the company. Shares market and competitor information with all applicable channels within HDS and establishes relationships and working partnerships with all levels of the organization.
  • Works with Business Development on acquisition strategies and execution/integration.
  • Responsible and accountable for the performance of the entire sales function in attaining sales plan, part margin and controllable expense objectives.
  • Communicates business objectives, vision, and strategies to management and region. Creates and sustains an environment that promotes good communications and candid feedback.
  • Sets goals for established region and teams effectively across functional boundaries to manage change.
  • Develops and implements processes to improve the process and systems for the sales organization.

Nature and Scope

  • Problems are typically defined by higher level leadership. Problems are difficult. Solutions require analysis and investigation.
  • Decides how to achieve planned results within an organization's plans, policies, and guidelines. May set or change plans/goals within respective department or area.
  • May manage department via multiple layers of managers OR directly supervise a staff of professional individual contributors at the senior or technical advisor level.

Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Typically requires overnight travel more than 50% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 9+ years of experience in a related field, including several years in a management/supervisory capacity.
