The Associate Human Resources Manager will deliver against the North American Human Resources and Labor Relations strategies at the manufacturing plant supporting the line leadership and functional teams in the areas of Integrated Lean Six Sigma, talent and performance management, AAP completion, talent acquisition and employee engagement.

The Associate Human Resources Manager will drive consistent policy and process applications and is responsible for ensuring flawless execution of all HR programs.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the Labor Relations (LR) COE and Human Resources Manager by supporting the administration of the local collective agreements. Investigate grievances and provides labor relations coaching and solutions to the plant in accordance with the collective agreement and established labor relations practices and strategies.
  • Takes lead on investigations and compliance cases related to Employee Relations.
  • Supports the Human Resources Manager and site leadership team in areas such as talent and performance management, talent acquisition, compensation administration, AAP completion, and the execution of employee engagement and communication strategies. Serves as backup to Org Pillar Leader. Serves as support and knowledge expert to HR Coordinator. Knowledge expert of Oregon Labor Leave laws.
  • Works with all employees to make progress regarding Manager Self Service and Employee self-service within the plants. Includes training, OPL, etc.
  • Interfaces daily with employees, HR Manager and plant leadership team, and Labor Relations COE representatives. Requires strong linkage to local HR Coordinator and Education and Training Manager.


  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Preferred: BS/BA in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field
  • Minimum of 3 or more years of Human Resources Generalist experience
  • Minimum of 2 or more years of proven Labor Relations experience
  • 2 or more years of experience in an Industrial/Manufacturing environment is a huge plus
  • 2 or more years of knowledge and experience working in HPWS, Lean Six Sigma or Total Productive Maintenance work systems would be considered an asset
  • Kronos experience would be considered an asset
