Job Brief

The Process Engineering Manager will be responsible for the coordination of the Process Engineering team, as well as, functioning as a process engineer. The Process Engineering team primarily supports the plant operations.

THE PROCESS ENGINEERING MANAGER CAN BE LOCATED AT ONE OF OUR REGIONAL OFFICES: SANDY, UTAH; WEST BEND, WISCONSIN OR BOUCHERVILLE, QUEBEC.
The Process Engineering Manager will be responsible for the coordination of the Process Engineering team, as well as, functioning as a process engineer. The Process Engineering team primarily supports the plant operations. They focus on process capability, process control, process optimization, training plant process engineers and supporting short term projects with a budget of less one million dollars. Additionally, the process team will understand and support the HMI/PLC standards, instrumentation standards and process automation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
  • Work safely and ensure appropriate safe guards are in place to mitigate hazards and prevent incidents
Management
  • Demonstrates organizational, planning, problem solving, and leadership skills while managing process, project teams and various projects
  • Coach, develop and evaluate direct reports. Ensure the proper use of the Graymont performance management process and templates to create a high-performance team
  • Coordinate and guide the implementation of Graymont's base process optimization program (POP) and develop advanced POP
  • Provide training to process and operations employees
  • Prepare quarterly update / status reports on the groups' major assignments
  • Manage Graymont priorities and resources
Plant Support
  • Provide support for plant process troubleshooting as required
  • Provide support to optimize plant processes as required
  • Provide support for plant process audits
  • Provide support for process permit compliance and testing
  • Coordinate sharing of process related information amongst plants and the process community
Project support (small projects)
  • Provide process engineering leads and process engineering resources to project teams as required
    • Under the guidance of the Project Manager, develop process designs or review and make recommendations regarding process designs for projects
    • Provide project commissioning support as required
    • Provide commissioning QC support as required
QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Minimum B.S. Degree in an engineering curriculum
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in industrial processing or manufacturing
  • Creative problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent critical thinking skills

  • Strong team working skills, with an ability to motivate and engage others
