Customer Service & Logistics (CS&L) is where you'll integrate our end-to-end demand-driven supply chain. Working "from farm to shelf," you'll connect plants with customers to deliver best-in-class service in the most efficient way. Your goal will be to have the right products, at the right time, and with the right quantity and quality on the shelf.
Job Scope
Responsible for the analysis and maintenance of the Item/Location/Week statistical forecast that drives product deployment to assigned branch or warehouse locations. Creates and maintains forecast models at the shipping location level, leveraging the APO Demand statistical forecasting engine to build an effective "starting point" forecast. Incorporates business intelligence and forecast information gathered from BU (Business Unit), from Sales, and from independent analytics to add further refinement to the statistical forecast. Assists the Field Demand Planning Manager in resolving discrepancies between the Consensus forecast and the short term deployment forecast in a process called "Gap Management". Analyze forecast accuracy results and future forecasts to identify opportunities for forecast accuracy improvement including root causing of impacts to Volume, Pacing, Basecode Mix, and Location Mix via Statistical Reviews, Business Trends, etc.
Primary Responsabilities
  • Ensure the best statistical forecast starting point (Basecode/location/week)
    • Link with the Global Modeler to ensure that Demand Classification is generating effective statistical models
    • Perform user maintenance on Base Forecast
      • Perform regular cleansing of user exceptions
      • Adjust history to reflect non-repeatable events, new items, cuts, allocations
      • Adjust for discontinuations
    2. Add value to the forecast beyond the starting point.
    • Perform Data Driven Analysis
      • Derive business intel through data analysis
    • Incorporate Business Intel
      • Incorporate customer promotional information from CPW or other sources into the location forecasts
      • Incorporate "causal factors" (forecast drivers) achieved via collaborative efforts
      • Dissect and incorporate causes of Gap where appropriate
    • Forecast Accuracy Analysis (step 6 of forecasting process)
      • Utilize "backward looking" analytics to evaluate forecast performance
    • Forward Looking Reasonableness
      • Utilize "forward looking" analytics (confidence intervals/Standard deviations) to identify opportunities in future forecast

    3. Ensure appropriate forecasts through collaboration and assist branch locations with waste reduction efforts through bi-weekly review of high DOS/at risk skus.


    Experience
    • Supply Chain or Sales function
    • Excel Proficient- Advanced Preferred
    • Working knowledge of key Customers' planning processes and tools; Customer demand planning experience.
    • APO / SAP BI Experience
