Position Summary: The primary role of the HR Analyst is to perform all levels of human resource generalist functions for the Timken Belts Springfield and Fort Scott facility. The HR Analyst reports directly to the HR Manager and supports the HR business plan by participating in associate relations & advocacy, talent acquisition and hiring, orientation/training as needed, compensation administration, hourly talent/performance management, safety administration, and workers' compensation management. The HR Analyst functions with a high level of professionalism, customer orientation, and confidentiality. Other responsibilities include participating in organizational/cultural/policy development initiatives, having knowledge of benefits/total rewards, as well as participating in continuous improvement projects within the HR organization and possibly other departments.
Essential Job Duties:
TALENT ACQUISITION & DEVELOPMENT - Responsible for managing all aspects of recruitment and onboarding of top talent in the organization and providing a positive candidate experience during internal and external recruiting efforts, including candidate screening, interviewing/interview scheduling, testing, new employee HR orientation/onboarding/training, and facilitating paperwork/notifications through the HR organization. Recruitment efforts include exempt and nonexempt personnel, students, and temporary employees, and writing/placing advertisements locally.
HOURLY COMPENSATION - Includes oversight of annual hourly performance reviews, including systems collaboration for best review template, oversight to keep pay managers on schedule, reading all reviews (adding input where necessary), and all other tasks related to this process. Other duties include hourly compensation structure, including development, pay grade matters, engaging with area/association employers on surveys to assure rates are competitive enough locally to attract and retain top talent.
HRIS SYSTEMS & HR PROCESSES - HRIS Systems expert, administering the processing of all HR-related actions (new position, new hires, reporting, job posting, etc.) and compiling reports from database. Employ continuous improvement concepts to recommend and implement enhancements to HR systems and processes, eliminating waste and adding value. Use HR data & metrics to identify opportunities for improvement. Maintain knowledge of employment law and HR best practices, sharing knowledge with team.
POSITIVE ASSOCIATE RELATIONS - associate advocate and business partner, communicating frequently with associate groups through multiple channels and maintaining high visibility with associates. Assists with development, training, and implementation of HR policies and procedures. Supports safety strategy and on point for management of employee workers' compensation claims and compliance reporting/recordkeeping associated with Timken Drives claims/safety administration.
COMPLIANCE - Maintains AA Program, filing EEO-1 reports annually to corporate, maintaining other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations. Trains/presents materials related to this program. Ensures compliance with all other state and federal mandatory compliance postings/programs.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS - Requires considerable knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources, effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills to maintain effective communication within OA as well as company-wide. Ability to create communication materials for distribution inside and outside of Timken Drives. Effective and natural people manager, passionate employee advocate with unwavering integrity and fairness, and possessing strength of character to deal honestly and respectfully with associates on all levels. Natural team player/cultural fit. Performs these and other duties as required and assigned.

- Recruiting, hiring, and performance evaluation experience preferred
- Strong PC skills (MS Office & HRIS applications)
- Management: background/experience 3 years

- Experience in mfg. environment preferred (3 yrs.)
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor Degree required in Business, HR, Organizational Development, or Communication.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: PHR/SPHR preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and complete necessary production forms. Ability to speak effectively with fellow employees and/or customers.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, schedule, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables; problem solving ability.

Moving/lifting greater than 50 pounds requires assistance from another employee or a lifting device/hoist. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Employee is required to wear proper safety eyewear and steel-toed shoes at all times while on the plant floor.
