Position Summary: This position exists to support sales at Timken Diamond Drives facility in Fulton, Illinois by implementing strategic pricing strategies across all market segments, ensuring pricing continuity within each segment. Is responsible for controlling and administer pricing details, connecting pricing strategy with daily activity, including pricing system maintenance, quotations and sales margin analysis, and updating distributor and OE pricing files on roller chain, ag chain, and auger products. Position facilitates input of information from various sales channels to the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) and business planning process.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Ensure adherence to pricing policy and guidelines.
  • Implement pricing tactics to reach defined business plan levels in terms of sales and profitability.
  • Implementation will require analysis of pricing history, current market pricing, value creation and competitive assessment.
  • Define Timken Drives value within a market or customer segment, recommend solution to non-standard or new customers and situations.
  • Lead external market pricing research.
  • Continuously propose and implement solutions to best fit our pricing strategy with existing market conditions.
  • Coordinate all price change systems administration including discount structures, customer prices lists, and part number segments.
  • Maintain and update customer pricing files including distributor product pricing files (PPIF).
  • Control the introduction of pricing for new products.
  • Provide timely and effective quotations supporting the sales effort.
  • Work with Sales Development Managers to drive continuous improvement of business planning process.
  • Work with sales, both internal and external to facilitate input of accurate data into the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning process.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Effective communication skills both written and oral.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to draw implications from pricing data.
  • Understanding of subjective value and market pricing concepts.
  • Exposure to business strategic planning with markets and products.
  • Data analysis and interpretation skills.
  • Knowledge of appropriate distribution and OE markets.
  • Knowledge of other functional areas including sales, engineering, and purchasing.
  • Knowledge of cost accounting.
  • Self-starter who can work independently.
  • Experienced working with Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and relevance to cost implications is a plus!
  • ERP system knowledge required, SAP preferred.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field. Plus, 2 years of experience in marketing analysis, business, data analysis preferred. 6-10 years of equivalent experience can be reviewed in lieu of required degree.
