- Daily set-up and operation of the engineering test room and the test room equipment. This primary responsibility includes, but is not limited to, the following testing:
- Evaluate competitor product performance
- Validation of engineering internal change control
- Technologies for product advancement
- Continuous improvement of current products
- Comprehensive data collection of components and assemblies related to product testing (described above).
- Comprehensive reporting of harvested testing data including the ability to produce easily understandable graphs, charts, and tables for engineering and management review.
- Management and implementation of PM (preventative maintenance) program as related to upkeep and calibration of testing equipment, devices, and sensors.
- Monitoring of inventory of testing consumables including sprockets, chains, etc.
- Plan and conduct standardized API (American Petroleum Institute) tests as required for auditing product performance.
- Support engineering through:
- Performing routine lab analysis and approval of heat-treated product per established sampling plan
- Identification, segregation and documentation of nonconforming materials
- Preparing mounted product samples for engineering review and documentation
- Conducting bend tests for welder qualification procedures
- Schedule and conduct routine sampling and documentation of manufactured roller chain products of pitch and push-off forces.
- Perform capability studies and collect raw data to support engineering projects.
- Available to take on responsibilities as a QA (Quality Assurance) Technician as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Solid knowledge of metrology and possess advance mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to utilize complicated drawings and specifications, advanced mathematics, and wide variety of precision measuring instruments.
- Broad knowledge of product specifications, manufacturing processes and their affects, and key product design characteristics.
- Excellent analytical skills and detailed oriented.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Hands-on leader who is self-driven and is constantly looking for improvement opportunities and implementation.
- Strong MS Office computer skills and experience working with data analysis tools.
- Ability to operate effectively and be flexible.
- Qualifications related to performance of job as QA Technician.
Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or a minimum of five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and complete necessary production forms. Ability to speak effectively with fellow employees and/or customers.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, schedule, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables; problem solving ability.
